Ron Thom & The Allied Arts
Goal - To describe an exhibition event for Ron Thom using research and design information hierarchy methods and typography to convey the artist. Since Ron Thom created architecture art helped influence the layout of the poster and represent how they are still standing a century later.
Project Statement - In order to represent Ron Thom and being an art architect, I used the characteristic of “&” to display the physical structure of the building to demonstrate that it is holding Allied Arts. The Allied Arts represents Ron Thom’s finished designs that are still standing today. I decided to make the “&” large in order to stand out. Without “&” the text appears to be empty and offbeat. The colours pink, orange, and yellow represent Rob Thom’s love, happiness, joy, and success for his career of art architect. His optimism is still reflected in his work by his determination to not give up.
